Davdoodles- G'day Mate!
To be honest, the exhaust is not so noisy and yesterday my daughter fell asleep in the sidecar! My harley sings lullabies now! LOL!!
As for the sidecar wheel, the answer is yes but it will be done during winter as a project with a couple of things.
What part of Australia are you from?

Do you leave the sidecar on most of the time?
If so, can you put a car tire on the rear of the bike (and possibly the sidecar) to help with it wearing the centers?
If it is going to wear the center of the bike tire down, may as well get a car tire since you would probably get more miles from that.

Concerning car tires versus motorcycle tires, you are right! After reading a lot on internet, it's a common practice and well documented. However, I'm a newbie on three wheels and still need to learn the principles. may be after paying five sets of tires in one season, I will consider seriously that option!
