Thinking about substituting my ff for a RSD fork brace on my FXDF. Anyone done this? Reviews? Pics? Even just pics no fender. Interested to see how it looks.
Just bought a 2008 FXDF - have used SuperBraces's on all my previous bikes. You shouldn't have to remove the fender...??? It's about a ten minute install, makes your bike ride like it's on rails. Highly recommended on any street bike.
I think the intent is to add rigidity without the need for a fender. It looks deadly on RSD builds, but those always look cool. Interested to see a real work application. Looks awesome on this FXDB...
Takes about 2 minutes to remove the 4 bolts...About 3 minutes to put back on. I don't like the look of a fork brace without a fender. Plenty stiff without it and I run hard on Angel's Crest which is probably one of the deadlier mountain roads in the US. Runs fine except through water as mentioned. Rain is pretty awful. The spray into your face is like a garden hose aimed at your eyes. I got stuck once, rare as it is here in SoCal, and you have to ride with your head off to one side to miss the jet of water. Not perfect but survivable. Puddles are the same, but just a quick blast. Here's a few pics.
