Sissy bar brackets with no sissy bar? I guess the PO really liked his sissy bar.

Congrats on the bike. What mods are you planning?

It looks like a standard high volume air cleaner to me. They are designed to be open in that manner and suffer no ill affects. At most, the OP can get a pre-filter in case he likes to ride in heavy rain. Otherwise, it's fine the way it is.

Thanks guys. I picked her up from a mom and pop truck dealer. I guess the dude traded her in for a chevy or so I'm told.

I think the dude either lived on the sand at the beach or just never dried her off after a nice ride in the rain. There is surface rust everywhere and all the aluminum is oxidized.

All and all she definitely needs some tlc but I got her for a song so I'm willing to put in the time to make her shine again.

Thanks man. The battery cover is definitely on my list of things to do.

Yea I noticed that too but it's a Arlen Ness big sucker intake. Lot's of people have em and I haven't heard of any horror stories. If I have problems with it down the road I'll change it out to a covered one.

Just a thought. Dig it though, cool blue!
Yea I thought about that to but idk man, I just can't see it. I'm currently on the lookout for a stock black pc piece.

The dude from the dealer did give it to me loose but I never put it on. It's also gross with a huge eagle on the back that just screams MURICA!

So far I removed the front reflectors and the license plate / turn signal setup. I ordered a Hogrida Lay Lo plate bracket, Biltwell Recoil grips and a Metzeler ME888 for the front.

I'm working on some T-bars, Poly riser bushings, all five stock pegs, a solid black (no eagle) air cleaner cover, stock derby cover, stock ignition cover and a stock battery cover.

After that will be a whole lot of PCing, 2-1 exhaust, new seat and a 1/4 fairing.

Slowly but surely.

Thanks guys. I'm already having fun making it my own. I'll get a lot more done this winter but at least now I can ride it and enjoy it.
