The Baker install is pretty easy with the primary chain loose, you can rest the compensator sprocket on the kickstand and slide the Baker in. Reinstall the compensator sprocket with a new bolt and torque down the 2 screws that secure the tensioner all to HD specs:
Now you want to adjust the Baker to a 5/8" to 7/8" upward chain deflection and check it over several different parts of the chain, then torque down the adjuster screw:

The Baker website claims a 3.42 torque increase over the HD stock tensioner - I have to admit this was very attractive to me, even if I get a little less, but does not seem outlandish when you think about an engine trying to overcome a super tight chain.
As far as my compensator goes - I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Darkhorse compensator or if that never comes to fruition, the new 2014 SE Compensator will be used. I just want to roll with the one I got for now and hope it holds up while Darkhorse works on getting their product out to the street....
The only other person I know who installed it without taking the compensator bolt out out was vdop and his Baker failed, hopefully you did not stress the unit and maybe vdop will chime in....
vdop does ride a bit harder that most of us though
I can't see how I could stress it. all I did was take the nylon filled nut off and install the two half's then slide the bolt in and install the nylon filled nut and tightened to specs???? What exactly failed on his baker??????

I wish I had the picture he posted, but the part that holds the shoe level bent over so that the chain lost tension and kinda slipped down and towards the outside. There was a big thread over on the HTT Forum about the Baker and it seemed liked this was a very rare occurrence. If you did not force it in or anything, then you should be good.
Understand that vdop does wheelies and such, has a chain instead of a belt for the rear pulley, so maybe he just overwhelmed it a bit

That was the only bent one ive seen and a few early welded units broke. I thing Mark said only warrantied 9 so far.
Maybe they took the shoe off the bracket to get it in or something like that. As I stated before. I just took the two half's apart an slid them in from the bottom up. Then I put the bolt and nut back in. I think that I will be fine.
