I took off my belt Guard cut it down and used it to mount my license plate on the side of bike. Then I took off the center brake light and plate holder. The only problem is now I have a huge hole where the wires went through the finder. Any ideas?
Also, does anyone make battery powered license plate lights? Not sure if I want to run wires.
You could find someone with a fender for sale or maybe find an emblem to fit over the hole. I changed out my rear fender to a chopped fender (current fenders on the Street Bobs), not on my 4th fender setup. Worse case, you have to pull the fender and get the hole filled whit sheet metal, a little boddy work and paint.
As for the battery operated light, how would you plan on getting the brake signal to the light when you hit the brakes. Just run your wires along the swing arm and leave a little slack when going to the swing arm from the frame to keep it from getting tight and breaking the wires.
Currently I have a emblem over the hole left by the tail light. It looks ok but I wanted a cleaner look so I bought a used fender and had it filled and painted and will be installing the new fender this weekend.
