Default front breaks "popping"

Hey folks I am hearing a popping noise when I engage my front brakes on deceleration. I just put a new 21" wheel on the front this season and it came with a new rotor premounted. I have never heard this before installing the new wheel but I'm wondering if my caliper is dirty of if my brake fluid is bad. when I installed the wheel I put in new brake pads and everything lined up perfectly. The bike stops fine and the caliper engages and releases but the noise has me concerned. Any input would be appreciated.

Check front axle assembly and caliper. Jack the bike up and spin the wheel then apply the brake. See if anything moves or if you can track down the sound.

if this rotor has alot of holes drilled into it for cooling purposes then the noise you hear is normal. I remember when O bought my bike I didn't want to use my front brakes because I didn't like that sound, well let me tell you my rear pads went out in no time and warped my rear rotor.

Yes it has way more holes in it than the stock rotor. Thanks for your input.

Has it been sitting awhile? If so the seals can get dry and when the puck is retracting that can also cause the popping noise but generally will go away with use and they get re-oiled per say. More than likely it is the noise from your drilled rotors
