Default Exhaust question......

Quick question here.

I've got a V&H exhaust (short shots)going on my bike.I have been reading, and it seems there is more to it than just bolting up the new exhaust, as I originally thought. (I freakin' suck .. I don't knowjack)Now, the dealer is doing the work, and I know he's doing the HD download, but I read somewhere that a new air cleaner is needed? I'm not sure if that was part of the deal or not.

With a new exhaust, do I need a better aircleaner? ... and what thehell elsedo Ineed?

PS. Thanks for any and all replies

Default RE: Exhaust question Muthafuka

Just my .02 but I'd edit out the muthafuka part...............generally a less aggressive approach will yeild better resultsif you actually want some real responses.

But yes, I would add a new high flowing AC......as in the KN type, if you are adding new exaust and remapping or re-tuning.

You may as well open the entire system up as best you can.

Many thanks for the reply. And my apologies to you and all that I may have offended with the stupid language. That was dumb on my part. It's 2am and I guess my brain just isn't working right.

Ray.

you can pick up a k&n replacement filter for 40- 60 bucks, the pricey part is the fuel management. let me know how you like the shortshots, I was thinking of putting them on my 07 fxd. My pipes are still stock. forward controls are first on the list.

I was thinking the exact same setup for my 07 superglide. With the fuel pack was there a pre arranged setup that was as easy as it sounds?? just dial in and go? Did you do the work yourself or have the pros do it?
