Default Rake and Triple Trees

Does anyone know if the frame and steering head is the same for a 2007 bob or wide glide???
Do they get the rake difference at the trees???
And how much wider are the trees on a 07 wide glide versus a 07 St Bob????
Be nice to have a wide glide front end on a bob if all you have to do is change the (2) trees.....
After all fatter is always better.....well except in WOMEN.....LOL

SB's have 4.7" of trail. Ideal range, from what I've readis 4-6". If you add 2 degrees of rake, you'll reduce your trail. I used an online calculator when I was condsidering doing the same project and came up with 3.5" of trail.

A little less than ideal, but probably not unsafe. The bike will be easier to handle at slow speeds, and tight turns. But at higher speeds may feel a little less stable.

Here's a good link:

It seems like a least two or three forum members have installed a Wide Glide front end on their Super Glide / Street Bobs, try a search and see what you get, or try this link. It will show you Wide Glide triple trees, stock length fork tubes and a 21 inch front wheel.
on a green 06 Low Rider.

Good luck with it.

If you want a little length without changings triple trees you can just use the WG upper tubes and springs, makes a good bit of visual difference without much change in handling.

Good Luck

06 / 07 Wide Glide steering head is 34*, and has 2* triple clamps. All other 06 / 07 Dyna'sare 29*, and 0* triple clamps, except the Low Rider whichhas a1 1/2* triple clamp.

06/07 Wide glide is 1 1/2" wider then the other 06 / 07 Dyna's

You will also have to get a wider hub or find a 06 / 07 21" Wide Glide wheel / tire set up on eBay.

I see a lot of late model Dyna folks using WG trees. How do they compare to Softail trees? Same width, but what about rake? Are they a direct swap like the WG trees?
Thanks

No softail trees on new dyna's. 06+ have 49mm tubes, not sure what softails are but arent 49mm. Probably 41mm so I would say no to direct swap. WG swap is cheap (relatively speaking)and easy.
