could it have been road noise? we have a stretch of freeway here in metro Detroit where they tested some new European concrete that's supposed to be good with ice. it wasn't, and, it makes the most God awful sound you can imagine when you ride over it.
So far you told us it's not grinding or squealing, so what does it sound like?
Could be loose heat shields or tank bolts not tightened down all the way. Check that the exhaust pipe flanges are not loose.

This happened to me while riding in the hill's.........
Heard some metalic noise pulled over and found my exhaust flange nut's had backed off...........just enough to make noise as I was hitting the little bumps in the road..........
not speed related i dont think was kinda hard to hear the faster i rode not rpm related and when i went for a ride later i could not her the noise it has seemed to stop for now i guess
Man I would love to help but to be honest you have not given us much to go off of to point you in the right direction to resolve the issue, could be neck bearings ,could be wheelbearings could be a stock piston in your caliper, could be a loose pad in your caliper, could be a loose motor mount a loose heatshield could be a loose intake mount, could be loose riser bolts, could be the plug inside the headlight came loose, The sky is really the limit until you get a little bit more descriptive on what causes the issue, specifically what it sounds like, and from there we can help you resolve the issue. Just let me know I'm happy to help
