Default Repairing LED integrated mirrors

So as you all know the Harley Stealership is always trying to make a killing on parts as well as repairs. A friend of mine has a 13 street bob with the integrated mirrors like on SOA. He has had them for about a year when the other day a LED burnt out he went to the dealer and they told him we dont repair those you need to buy a new set. Me being a junkyard/ garage builder im thinking i bet i can figure out a way to fix them. So i took a heat gun and peeled the mirror off of the housing(becareful as you can break the glass). once getting inside youll find a 4 screws and a bunch of silicone holding the led circuit board to the housing. Unbolt theses screws and carefully pry up the circuit board around the edges. once you get the circuit board out take a set of mini jumper wires from a 9V battery and place the positive on the positive wire then take a screw or nail into the center hole which is your ground and attach the negative jumper wire to your ground the LEDs will light up at this point take a test light and touch the solder joints on the side of the LEDs you will find that when you tap a certain side of one you will get sometimes several LEDs to light up and sometimes just one LED. Take a hot sodering iron and lightly touch the soder joint next to the LED and the lights will come on continue this until you achieve all lights functioning. Be careful not to put the sodering iron on the joint for more then a second or two that is all it takes. grab a tube of silicone adhesive and seal the mirrors back up then reassemble them. This was something my friend didnt have anything to lose other then 325.00 back to the stealership but with a little common sense and a lot of beers you can fix anything. Sorry to the guys that have already fell for the buying of another set but now you know.
