Default Charging via Handlebar Auxiliary Power Port?

I was wondering if I could use a "Handlebar Mount Auxiliary Power Port", part number 69200854, to make a quick and simple way to hook up the bike to a Battery Tender. Combined with a SAE to cigarette lighter plug cable on the charger side. I figure I could always cut the factory plug and wire it directly to the battery however does anyone know if the wire in that part could handle the charger load? It doesn't appear any smaller than a charging cable...

The part number you have mentioned has a six pin connector at the other end. You need to check that. And if you cut it and connect directly to the battery then it will be always on, whereas, with six pin connected to the accessory port, it will be on only when the ignition is on.

It does not matter what connection port is used as long as it has "always on" power from the battery. Switched (key on) connections will not work. As long as the Auxiliary Power Port works when the bike is off (key off) and you have the correct SAE adapter, you can use it with a battery tender.
