How long can your bike sit without being on a charger and still start? I've notice that if my bike sits for 7 days the battery isn't strong enough to start the bike. I recently had a stereo installed. This weekend, I'll disconnect the power to the amp. Then I'll see if the battery holds a charge longer than 7 days. I'm thinking that something is draining the battery. The battery is about 6 months old.
I don't know the max time my bike can go before the battery is too weak to start it, but sure as sh*t it's more than 7 days! Sounds to me like you either have a short or something is indeed constantly drawing power and draining your battery.
Any longer than a week or two I would use a battery tender. Stereo's draw power even when they're off to keep clock settings, radio station presets, and settings. The stereo and amp may also draw more power than your charging system can keep up with when they are powered on. You will also increase the power draw the louder the volume is turned up. You may only be partially charging your battery on rides because of that.
You should fully charge your battery with a tender, disconnect the stereo and the amp, then let it sit off the tender for 7+ days and see what the results are. Good luck!
