Default Headlight issue
I have a 2001 dyna defender. I notice on hot days (seems to happen then the most) when I start the bike the headlight won't be on and the high beam icon is kind of lit up. Get going down the street and the light will come on. I'm not new to owning bikes but new to digging into them to fix. Any ideas. Not sure if something is overheating. Battery is new this past year. Any idea on where to start would be greatly appreciated

First thing is check the connector to the headlight and left hand controls. Make sure the headlight has a good ground. When the light comes on does the high beam indicator go out?

Yes..the indicator goes out. The HB indicator never fully lights up..just kind of dull blue..not like when you are using the HB. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction

^^^Yep^^^

Trace the wiring from bulb to harness connection(s)...something's either cracked, loose, or broken.
