Oil pressure sensor wiring issue

Oil pressure sensor wiring issue
2002 Road King Classic EFI
'
The wire going to my Oil pressure sending unit has broken off at the connector. The connector is one that can not be repaired and must be replaced. It is coated with rubber? and the wire leading to it also coated.
The dealer says the part is obsolete with no replacement available.
Even if the harness was available it would cost $70 which is a bit out of line for what the problem is.
Attached is a picture of the oil pressure sending unit along with the broken connector. There should be a pig tail on that connector.
'
Does anyone know what to do about the problem? If I could find a connector with a pigtail I would be ecstatic.

All you need is a crimped connector with a hole in it, to fit over that stud, plus a suitable nut and shakeproof washer. The cherry on the cake would be a small rubber boot, to cover it. Take a look around your local auto parts store, with your unit in hand. SHould cost very little for the parts.

A lot of money but if it's what you want.

Option #3 is repair the old connector. Here is a quote from another forum I posted re the subject
After the suggested mods I decided to take the old connector and strip off the plastic insulation surrounding the broken wire right down to the metal socket. I managed to open up the wire crimps of the metal connector and insert a new piece of wire. Soldered it in place, shrink wrapped it and so now I have the original connector repaired.
Will save it until the new "band aid" fails if it ever will.

Have you found your fix on this problem yet? I want to convert my pressure switch (like yours) to a sending unit to a gauge on the batwing console. I have added the pressure and air temp gauges. I found a parts list of all components on the Touring bikes and a company out of Milwaukee that sells all the connectors, switches, wiring harnesses, etc.
But I have a question if anyone can help?!?!?!?!?!
IS IT THAT SIMPLE TO CHANGE OUT THE SWITCH TO A SENDING UNIT?
If so, how will the console light now work?????
