New LED Light Setup
OK, so as long as I'm running the hazards with the big ignition switch in the "on" position, all four signals flash as they are supposed to. However, with the hazards still on, if I then turn the big ignition switch to the "off" position (like I'm going to be leaving the bike by the side of the road, for example), the hazards DO continue to work, but now the Daymaker headlights I mentioned also flash along with the signals. So to recap, with the ignition switch "on", hazards are OK - no headlight flash; with the ignition switch "off", hazards are OK - headlights flashing.
As a test, I removed the Badlands equalizer from the equation entirely and re-plugged the stock rear signal harness back together. I then re-tested and the headlights no longer flash (with the ignition switch "off") with the equalizer out of the picture. I repeated this test a few times with same result - with the equalizer in-line, headlights flash with the ignition in "off" position.
One last thing - also worth mentioning perhaps - BEFORE I ever installed the equalizer or the LED turn signals, when I shut off the big ignition switch at the end of a ride, the previous incandescent bulb signals would always flash twice once the security system armed (as they should). When those signals would flash during that system arming, the LED headlights would also flash.
Since I have LED headlights, maybe the fact the headlights flash on and off with the hazards isn't such a big deal; it just seems odd that they would. I could eliminate the equalizer and have the hazards back to what I consider "normal", but then the signals hyper flash,so...
It feels like perhaps a ground for the Daymakers got tied into the signal flasher ground and maybe there's some sort of "bleed back". If that were the case, some sort of diode should "rectify" that?
