4yrs ago I put new bars and rewired everything. Did not keep front turn signals. Decided I want front signals again for obvious safety reasons. Found the old turn signal wires, and was trying to route the ne turn signal cable through the bars. But gave up and decided I'd go for fork mounted instead. Put everything back the way I found it. And now I'm being zapped through the clutch and the derby cover. My brake line is also getting hot. Not sure what is going on. Help!
Now I didnt electrical tape the turn signal wires this time, just put shrink tube over them. Could this be the issue? All I did last time was wrap them in electrical tape last time
Thing is I changed nothing. I found the old taped up turn signal cables I had cut 4yrs ago untapped them. Me sure I had left. And then attempted to run the new cable three the bars so I could splice and solder together. But gave up after an hour and put it back the way I hid it minus the electrical tape on the wires. And now I'm being zapped.
I have not EVER known of 12 volts being able to be felt by anyone.....
You can touch both battery terminals at the same time, and you wont feel it. If you were indeed being shocked, it wasn't from the bike's 12v electrical. Some of the bikes are known for issues with the stator wiring where it comes out of the primary, MAYBE you could feel that level of voltage if conditions were just right, but your most likely source would be ignition.
