2012 Limited Accessory switch socket.
So, I have found the accessory socket under the L side cover.
It is not rubber capped but has a 72547-08 with a diode symbol plugged into it.
The factory installed Accessory switch does not operate anything. So, what does the plugged in item (diode) do??

There is a lot of miss-information out there on the internet about it, and HD didnt help much by using the same 4-pin Deutsch connector for multiple applications.
For those that come across this thread, check your Electrical Diagnostic Manual for the location of your plug.
My 09 touring (up to 13 touring, and earlier but I don't know how far back it goes) have the Auxiliary plug under the seat, using that 4-pin Deutsch plug.
(They also have a 4-pin Deutsch plug under the left side cover for ABS, and oh, wait, isnt the ECM plug under the left side cover a 4-pin Deutsch for some of those years??)
The Rushmores have the plug, an 8-pin Molex under the left side cover.
To use a 4-pin Deutsch accessory one would need an Electrical Connection Update Kit (69200722,) plus additional parts.
I believe the M8 bikes have it under the right side cover, but someone would have to confirm that.
