Default Electrical issues 02 road king classic

So, weird thing happened today. We have had ran for, well, months, today, it was nice enough to ride. I started the bike up, took off. Got to the end of my road, turned on the directional-and noticed that the gauges were dead. Nothing sounded off, so, I took off. The gauges came on maybe a minute later. So, I kept riding. About another 5 minutes later, gauges died. No directionals, no horn, no high beams. I came to a stop, and it died. I got off the bike, and started it with a solenoid push button start I installed last year. It sounded odd, a weird idle. Like it wasnt fully firing. I got her home, and parked it. I called my shop to have them look at it, it will be in for service next week.
I know its not the battery (or shouldnt be), as that was replaced less than a year ago. I dont have access to a garage, or voltmeter, or anything, I'm just trying to troubleshoot this before the shop tears her apart. Any suggestions?

Have the battery load tested. If good inspect battery cables, both ends, and reinstall battery. Then check fuses. Then grounds.

sounds like what happened when my voltage regulator started going intermittent on me...The battery was not getting charged and it eventually got too low for the systems to work. BTW, a year-old battery that has been sitting static and not cycling most of the time can go bad just as fast as a 5 year old battery that is regularly cycled.

I should have clarified. I have been riding it since March. Lately, with the rain, only about once a week or so. The battery was fine until today.

I had a 5 year old HD brand battery finally fail and I replaced it with a new HD branded battery that went intermittent on me 6 months later. That took me 3 more months to finally figure out and get a warranty replacement battery. Within a few more months on the new battery, my 3 year-old voltage regulator took a dump, probably because of the bad battery. The symptoms were the same every time. Work great until the battery was too weak to crank. Charge the battery and everything was good until that one ride when the battery didn't charge and wouldn't crank the bike.

So, after a week, I finally got it back. The issue was twofold:
First, an 50 amp fuse was bad (something I didnt check, and thats entirely on me.). I checked the fuse box, and all of those were fine. I did NOT check the large ones. My bad.
Second, my starter switch was completely gunked up. Preventing inconsistent starting that just happened to coincide with this issue. Anyway, they cleaned that up.
I picked her back up today, rode her 70 miles, no issues.
I am happy again . And, it was a CHEAP fix, which I wasnt expecting.
