Bought a led tail light with integrated turn signals for my 02 sportster 1200c, but I’m nervous about wiring it. I want to do away with the rear turn signals all together, so I’m not worried about the wires that go directly to the signals. I need to cut the main harness and was planning on hard wiring everything. But I can’t figure out what’s what. Any ideas? Current wiring of bike New light. Red is brake light. Blue is left turn. Yellow is right turn. White is running. Black is negative.
What bike wires are what is in the service manual. If you don't have one, you can suss them out using a volt meter and ringing out the ground and hot wires for each signal. Then cross that info to the new tail lights wiring diagram.
mr. t is absolutely correct, need the fsm or go to the hd portal and download the schematic.
cutting wire is usually the last resort for me, i would go get the mating molex connector and pins and make a plug and play, that way, it is reversible if needed. this is how i run my after market ign sys and yep, did come in handy when it went south, plugged in the stock till i could get a replacement.
