OK, I`ll ask the obvious question, can`t you return the harness and get the correct one?
Let us in on your project, what happened to the original harness that it can`t be used?
bike was in a fire, cant send harness back, cant purchase another one because I don't have the funds, need bike to get a job. Can the harness be made to work?
Was the main harness the only part that was damaged by the fire?
only things left were the main wiring to the engine, the headlight, and battery, all of which someone else cut up and rerouted. They placed an ATV ignition switch below the battery box. Only 2 circuit breakers and no fuses. And an after market brake light. Bike is carborated and has a crane cams electronic racing ignition. No other visible upgrades
I have handlebar controls the above mentioned harness and front and rear turn signals and an electronic speedo sensor. Also an l.e.d. flasher relay. Also bike has no gauges or indicator lights.
The harness is o.e.m. and uncut.
super duper +1 mr. dan
the wiring schematic are helpful big time and easy to get even for free, even hd offers them on the hd sip.
with them in hand, he can even make his own, easy peasy! been down that road before.
Big difference between 99 and 97 harness is speedo connection, 97 has the electronic speedo but the connection on the back is different so you will need an adapter harness.
