You don't just get a used speedo, you will need a new one. Connect the main harness connector to the original speedo and the new speedo will have a data link cable that plugs into the new speedo and the data port on the main harness. Follow the procedures in the instruction sheet that comes with the new speedo. The odometer should transfer to the new and after 34 miles the new speedo will be permanently married to the ECU. If I'm not mistaken it is the VIN stored in the ECU thus allowing ECU change without speedo change.

Wonder why speedos sell for such a high price on ebay when they can’t be used to replace a bad one?
Whats a good aftermarket one to get? I’m just looking to get this bike running again.
Thanks for your help.
