Default 2020 flhtk usb?

I just picked up my 2020 Ultra Limited and when I was plugging in my battery tender I notice a socket for what appears to be a mini USB port in the same connector as the battery tender on the bike. Mine hangs down below the left cover and is zip tied to the frame. The USB port is on the positive pole end. I looked in the manual and on the Harley site for anything identifying what this is and found nothing. Anyone here know?

thanks!!

If you're talking about the spade terminal on the bottom, it's not a mini USB. It's a positive terminal used on some battery tenders.

Yep. That's it. Thanks. I've never seen anything like that. Even searching tenders I didn't see anything like that.

thanks!!!

It's been discontinued, but HD used to sell a 5 Amp Global battery charger that utilized the 3 pin connector. When the charger's circuitry senses it is connected to a 3 pin connector, it charges at 5 Amps. When connected to a 2 pin connector, it charges at 2.5 Amps.

Huh. They have 2 pin 5 amp tenders. Was this a proprietary Harley connector? Or more like a mini USB that no one uses anymore? Just curious.

I've never seen another charger/tender that uses a 3 pin connector that mates with the bike's factory 3 pin connector other than the discontinued HD 5 Amp Global charger. Not really sure of the reasoning behind the automatic dual Amp function, but a battery will charge in half the time at 5 Amps versus 2.5 Amps. There are only 2 wires leading to the bike's tender connector (12V pos. & neg.). The connection between the 2 positive terminals at the connector is within the plastic plug.

I was wondering since they say "global" if it had something to do with the euro 220v power unlike the US 110v. I can't see why it would matter since the tender/charger would convert it down to 12v.
