Default Can somebody tell me what this is?

Does anybody know what the bigger box that's wrapped between the two connectors is and if it's easy to find and replace? I've been having some brake light issues and whenever I press down hard on the box my brake lights will go out but if I move it around they will turn back on. Thanks!

from what you are saying and doing.
It's most likely a run turn brake control; module. That is alot of wires tho UMMM

Undo the tape and look for identify words.
Moving it around maybe showing a bad connection at the plugs or even inside the box.

You mention problems I'd remove the box and hook the connectors back up and see if problem goes away

Very simple. Its the HD module that converts the rear turn signals to brake lights and turns. It came with red lenses for the rear. If you remove it, you will just have normal rear turns and need amber lenses. Why someone encased it in black tape I could not say.

When they go bad you can get light problems.

Thank you guys for the input! It was run/brake/turn module. And the reasoning for all the tape around the box was because it was an aftermarket piece and it was holding two boxes together. Makes sense now. I picked up this all-in-one module. It was a little more expensive than I expected but not only did it fix the lights but I now have strobe brake lights and solved my hyper flashing issue at the same time :-) I'm ****ing happy and glad that's over. Haha
