Default Tracking Devices

I wanna hide a tracker or two on my HD and the dealership offered me one for $1300.00 which cause me to flex my sphincter muscle. I asked him if it was so pricey cause it had the Harley Davidson logo on it, he said no. 3rd party brand. Oh and that was with a 3 yr plan. Am I crazy to think that's a ripoff? Are there decent hidden devices that last a long time that I can install on my bike that are reasonably priced? I have the alarm and pager fob but if the bike is taken before i can get there...I'd like to be able to track it down in real time.

Man..I'd pay the extra to update the insurance and forget about it.
Good luck with her!

Do you own an iPhone? If yes, take a look at the Apple Air Tag. The cost is very reasonable, and you can hide it in the saddleback or the frame area.

Insurance is the way to go. Regardless of what anyone thinks they would do when confronting a thief, anyone set on stealing your bike has probably got a lot less to lose and a lot more to prove than you do.

I just lay an empty 1911 holster on the seat.
Nobody's ever bothered my bike.

I would suspect the high cost is for the monthly maintenance fees for the cell service and phone number associated with it, plus the mechanic's time to hook it to the battery, as well as the device itself, which is probably very similar to just getting an extra cell phone itself and stashing it on the bike to be setup to automatically be powered on and dial you if stolen.
