Default Rear light issues

So, I've got some rear light issues. I have a 2014 sportster 48. I live in Canada, so it came with the longer fender, with third brake light. I recently switched out the fender for the shorter one (like the one US models come with), and deleted the 3rd brake light. To have my rears Function as running/turn/brake, I used a trailer brake module in line. I also converted my front and rear turns to led with the plug and play sockets.

Front turn/running lights work perfectly. The rears however are acting abnormally. First I noticed the hazards didn't work on the rears, no big deal since the signals were working fine. The next ride, I noticed the hazards and signals (rear only) weren't working, just the running lights and brakes worked. I've also started it up and had everything work fine.

Could it be the trailer brake module doesn't like LEDs? Something with the canbus system (I read the canbus can learn to play nice with led). Some sort of grounding issue?
Also, the little red light on my speedo has been on since the conversion, assuming it's throwing a signal light error though since everything else runs fine. My turn signals don't hyper flash, but my indicator on my speedo seems to be flashing quick. And I've tried a couple of the led learning routines to get the canbus to recognize the different draw from the leds. Didn't seem to make a difference though.

any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, im at a loss and a bit over my head. And I have read other forum posts relating to these issues but nothing seemed to hit all the same points for my scenario. Thanks

An easier solution would be buy the run, turn, brake light converter from Harley. It about $75 US and is plug and play.
With the canbus system using LEDs you have to run the 4 way flashers for 10 minutes for the BCM to recognize the LEDs.

Oh ok great. I'll look into that. Hopefully it's available in Canada, sounds like that would be the easiest solution. Thanks for the advice!
