So Ive been working on my bike (2014 FLHR with no key fob or alarm system) for a powdercoating project. This included having to reinstall the front end lighting. When I put it back together I had a short somewhere in the right front turn signal that wouldnt stay on but I know hand signals so I rode anyway until I could find more time to go back through the wiring again.
Well, I went through the wiring and connections to reconnected any connectors that might have been bad between wires from my reinstall, but the turn signal still wouldnt function. The two front turn signals flash once when turning the bike on but go back out and dont work for signally or running lights. But, I could still ride it, so yesterday I went out for a ride (been missing it this whole project) and have a new problem to add to the mix:
A little red light came on the speedometer, not a surprise since the front lighting was messed up and I was told this could just be bc a blown bulb (bulbs are fine again they turn on briefly when turning the bike on).
I did find that the P&A fuse was blown so I replaced it, didnt change anything though.
It runs fine
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
Code is:
bcm y b2169 pn69992-12a
Strangely enough, Im not getting b2141 or b2146

Your 1014 has a canbus system meaning the functions are controlled by the ECM or BCM. The fact that the lights flash from the alarm signal shows the wiring to the lights is ok. The problem is either in the switch, BCM or ECM wiring. Check those connectors and pins for bent or loose pins.

Thanks. Will do. Its not the switch because the rear signals work. So Ill concentrate of checking the ecm and bcm connectors.
What could cause b2169 running lights output overloaded?
I checked all the connectors for the bcm and ecm also all the connectors above the ecm gray.
Could there be too much pulling on the battery? I did install a set of led ground lights I dont know how that could effect the bcm but I guess it might?
Also the 10a inline fuse to my Rockford fist gate amp keeps blowing immediately when turning on the bike switch.
Triumph manuals have pinpoint tests that are code based. I cant find anything like that in the HD manual.
