iron 883 issue with neutral

iron 883 issue with neutral
hi there, (bike is a 2015 iron 883)
first thread as this is my first harley and im less than a week into ownership and already having gremlins pop up in the electrics
after doing my first 'long ride' i came to a petrol station on my home to fill up before i put her to sleep for the night and when tried clicking into neutral i noticed no green N came on the bike goes into neutral as when releasing clutch it doesnt stall or when revving the throttle the bike doesnt move so deffo in neutral however when i put the side stand to have a quick look the bike cut out as a safety as it thinks its in gear even though its not. anyone have any idea whats going on at all as this has been the case for the past 3 days and dont want to take it to harley and be charged an arm and a leg for a connector i can clip back in.
