I was checking out the newer compact meters, thinking I might buy another to keep me from moving mine from bike to bike, and was amazed how much a Simpson is now. Like $800. !! When I was still working as a field tech, every group had a few, and some areas, one for every technician

I have a small pocket sized one I carry on the bike. I have carried one for many years.

The last one on the bike lasted about 30 years. It was from Radio Shack.

No freaking way I would carry my Simpsons on my bike. Mine lopes so hard at idle it would probably snap the needle off. Cheap digital is good enough for bike work on the side of the road, in the rain...
