How much do the speakers angle up? Looks like its about 1" at the bottom of the speaker adapter plate. Can some one give me the measurement. Do you guys think that angle helps and can you hear those speakers down there? HOw would it sound if the speakers were just mounted flush in the lower fairing? I have seen some kits that just mount flush and I am trying to figure out it the angle helps, looks good or if I should just go with a flush mount.
Gas Can, Thanks for the post. just finished the Hog Tunes lowers speaker kit and tweeter pod upgrades on my 2010 FLHTCU, with no problems at all. Thanks for taking the time to post. Great pic's and description.. Bg
Is another amp required? I already have the upgraded HogTunes fairing speakers, amp, and the tweeter pod on my 09 FLHX, I put lowers on about a month ago and I want to add the lower fairing speakers but I'm confused about amps....if I need another one or not.
I called Hogtunes today and talked to a tech, they can make a custom plug n play harness that powers the lowers through the amp and the speakers and tweeter will be powered by the radio.....so I ordered it, we'll see how that turns out, in order to add another amp, a special power harness is required and cutting of guage mounts, etc. is required.
Great write up. Just wondering I removed my lowers in the summer. Live in DC area and deal with a lot of stop and go and find that to be a good way to cool engine. Is removing the fairing still easy with the speakers, do recommend removing the wires from the fairing? Thanks for any insite!

The lower speaker wiring has a quick-connect that hangs where you can get to it without removing the batwing.
