Break Out Box?

Does anyone know of a good source for a Harley Break Out box or if anyone makes on that is compatible?

The 'Breakout Box' is proprietary to Harley-Davidson as is some other diagnostic tools such as the Digital Technician II.

Proprietary meaning you can only buy it from Harley or you can't get it unless you work for Harley?

I notice that there is a Speedo breakout box, an ECM breakout box, and who knows what others... geeze.

if you are handy, you can make them yourself. most electronic stores sell deutsch plugs and pins and wire. you can get boxes there or radio shack. the deutsch insertion tools are quit pricey.

"Proprietary" on the BO box meaning if you have one at home, you stole it! That's what I heard at MMI but I haven't actually tried going in a dealership and ORDERING one, so ??? Some test equipment may be available such as the speedo, but not sure. I've thought about trying to make one myself but I'm not that handy!

Well, the trick would be getting the right connectors for each situation and then wiring them to a box with indicator lights I guess. Probably simpler just to have the stealer do a wiggle test for me.
