Default GPS Question

Guys I have been looking for a decent gps for my harley. I have a garmin 265wt that I bought for the wife and would like to just use it since it is bought and paid for but, I am afraid it will rattle to pieces. I am a big garmin fan but hate to pay $700-$800 for one. Has any one used a regular nuvi on their big and not had any problems with it. I would like to get a mount that will put it on the fairing of my 07 street glide but again I dont want to shake it ot pieces. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks.

I use my Garmin nuvi 780 on my Fatboy without any problems.
I bought a ball mount on eBay to mount it and then hard wired the power cord to the ignition.

Thanks, I was hoping someone had used a nuvi on their bike. That tells me what I needed to know. Looks Like I will be buying a ram mount for my bike.

The Nuvi seems to be the better choice if you are going the non-motor cycle specific models.

I have used a Nuvi 350 for 3 years and now use a Nuvi 265WT on my 09 ultra. I use the RAM mount and usually carry it in my tour pak when not in use. No problem at all. If it rains I just take the $700 sandwich bag out and cover it. Nuvi is a great product and I use mine often.

I use a nuvi also not sure what model maybe 250 something like that. I mount it with a ram mount and have it direct wired to battery. The direct wire was had to find. Only problem I have with it is sun glare when sun is behind me other then that works fine. I put all the dealers in it and as I ride I randomly check for dealers in the area to visit. Eventually I might get one made for motorcycles but can't see paying so much for them.

Thanks guys you have helped me make the decision that I was probably going to make anyway. At least now I feel better knowing other riders are using theirs and not having any problems.
