Don't do it.
1) Chances are, the wires will pull apart;
2) Chances are, they'll corrode if they don't pull apart first
3) Chansed are, if they corrode first, they'll pull apart, eventually, anyway
4) Chances are, you'll hate yourself when (not if) you have to do it right the second time (especially if you're left stranded), and
4) Chances are, you'd be taking one hell of a chance.

Not sure what you are looking for, but I have used these. No splicing. Very easy to use and no problems. Taps into existing wire.
