Default GPS Power Connection

Where is the best place to power a handle bar mounted GPS unit on a Street Glide with a Bat Wing fairing? Is there a good place under the Bat Wing or do you run wire directly to battery? Or somewhere else?

I used the 2 wires that are taped to your headlight wires. They are sideways looking spade connectors.

nocarb is right. run your wires down your left handlebar (tiewrapped) through the handlebar hole in the fairing. right behind the headlight is a factory power source. One wire is orange/red, the other black. Obviously orange/red is the + side and black is the ground.

Thanks fellows. I tapped into the cigarette lighter wires before I read your posts. But know that I know those wires are there could I use them for lighting? Also are those wires connected to a switch?
