Question Button type KEY FOB programming problem...

I got an 05 sportster 1200 custom from my Dad for my 40th birthday.

He contacted Harley Davidson and got me 2 additional keys along with another button type FOB for the bike. I was supposed to goto a local dealer and have them program it, but time did not allow for it today.

I would like to know the following:

Does the hold turn signals and press 7 in 5 times work on an 05 model?

I tried to get it to do the programming instructions as found in another thread, but it would never enter programming mode (lights flash)??

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? I tried it in the acc mode, but no luck.. Also tried it in the OFF swithch position, but no luck either. I tried to get it into programming mode with the key ON, and I got the hazards for almost a full minute..

If the programming is different for 05, please someone let me know..

Thanks,

And I plan to be an owner for quite a while...
