speedometer problems

Default speedometer problems
I put on a new set of control buttons on my friends 2001 dyna wide glide and everything was fine but now his speepometer jumps around or doesnt come on all. the bike runs fine but some times when he turns it on the turnsignals flash. any ideas? He was caught in the rain after i put buttons on.
