i have a 07 Road king with Chrome Werks hitch and wiring harness. Hitch plug is a 5 wire round. The wiring is as follows on the bike hitch:
Green - right turn only
Yellow - left turn only
Brown - marker or clearance
white - ground
Red - Brake
right and left turns is only hot when blinkers are on. Marker/clearance is hot whenever the ingition is on
the brake(red) only comes on when brakes are pressed.
I purchased a trailer that has 4 wire flat system. I cut off the plug and installed a 5 wire round. Currently the blinkers and clearance are working, but no brake lights. I am guessing somehow the red wire on the bike needs wired into the trailer *** the bike is a 5 wire and the trailer is only a 4 wire. not sure how to handle?
4 wire directions state the blinker wires are also brakes. Problem is on the bike, the blinkers are not hot when the brakes are pressed???? HELP!!
I would add on another set of lights for the brake and use a five wire plug for the trailer. Can't have too many lights. It's also cheaper than an adapter.
