Default bike wont start

Hi maybe someone can help I have a very clean 99 RK police model have chrome starter. The other day I tried to start and it wouldnt fire. It just made a pop sound not really a click sound I use a battery tender all the time maybe some wire is loose. I know its hard to tell without being here I just thought some of you experts may give me some direction. Have had the bike for 5 years and it is the 1st time this has happened. Thank you in advance for your help.

check your battery terminals to make sure they're tight and free of corrosion both at the battery and where they terminate.

Also check your main circuit breaker. Do you have power to anything else?

If the battery is 5 years old, that's pretty much it's life expectancy also if it's and HD battery.

Got it fixed. My guys at the harley dealer in Fife are great it was the relay, replaced both and I will carry a couple for back up, when we go on trips. He said they go out all the time?? news to me if you have 97 through 2008 RK you might want to carry them part number is 31504-91A. Have a great ride see you out there

yeah that circuit breaker is a known point of failure and you're wise to have a couple of spares. What most are doing is getting rid of the breaker all together and instead replacing it with a Maxi-Fuse of the corresponding amp rating of the circuit breaker.
