Default electric speedometer need help!

This might be a dumb question and has already been answered but i cant find anything on it. I have a 99 fxstc that has been chopped and all redone by a previous owner. That means they did a nice hack job on the wiring :/ they cut the spped sensor plug off but the spped sensor is still in the trans and the aftermarket speedo was never hooked up. It has two pig tsils coming out of the gauge. One for lights i assume and one for the spped sensor. Both have a custer of three wires coming out. Red black and i cant remember the other. Its either green or yellow. Anyone know how to connect this thing so itll work with the speedo sensor? If so can somone post up a wiring diagram i can use? Hopefully a simple cor coded one so i dont get confused and fry something lol. I also noticed the neutral switch is also there but no plug but i do have a light. Any help on that would be great too. Id really like to get this all squared away asap if anyone can help that would be awesome thanks a bunch!!!!!

Well that would be the problem. There isnt any make model or number to give. If there was id just be able to look it up lol. The color code is red black and green. It has two pig tails same colored wires in both pig tails on the back of it. The best i can do is i found the same speedometer on oldbikebarn.com Part# 482640 black faced speedometer. For some reason this forum wont allow me to post pics since the moderator still hasnt okayed simple pics of my bike yet and its been over a month now. You can search the part number on that site and itll show you the speedometer if that helps at all

You can contact bikers choice by calling 800-347-7070 or bikerschoice@bikerschoice.com and have them send you install directions or at least tell you what wires go where for the speedo you have.
I don't have a diagram for your year and model. and could not come up with one.

What color is all the wires on the speedo?
I do not know that speedo specifically so hook up at your own risk, rule of thumb red would be power input 12volt batt +, black ground. green signal wire from speed sensor, orange possably 5 volt out of speedo to 5volt input at speed sensor black to black at speed sensor.

what colors are at the harness where the plug was cut off? is it red/white, black, white/green?
then there may be 2 other wires for trip/odometer reset.

The speedometer has two different harnesses coming off it. One harness is black red and green. The second harness is also black red and green. One is in the center of the back of the gauge and one is one the bottom back of the gauge. Both have same exact color codes. The speed sensor wiring that is on the transmission that has been cut the wiring is red black and white. Hope this is a better description of the wires. Also i have tried calling and emailing them and have been unable to get a responce from any retailers of this brand of gauges so im hoping somone would have an idea of what do. Im by no means a rookie at mechanics but honestly ive never seen a gauge like this with two pig tails with the exact same color coded wires. I assumed one was for lights one was for the gauge. Or its a loop back of some sort ???

Yea sorry cant help more I could not fined any thing on that specific speedo or a wire diagram for your specific year/model, All the ones I have seen are hooked up like I described in above post so that does not look like it will work for that model of speedo.
It may be possible that that particular speedo wont work on your set up.
If you cant fined any info on that speedo it would probably be better to get a new one for your year of bike and get the proper wiring directions for it.

Now all i have left to do is find out the torque specs for the front bdl belt drive pulley so i can put a new belt on it and ill be all set to ride as soon as the snows gone. Its a 3 inch open bdl primary drive. Im not sure if it goes off harley factory specs or bdl specs but either way i cant seem yo find either on the net. Anyone know if i even have to remove the pulley to install the new belt? Pry should start another post for this but figured id ask. Its a 1999 1340 evo
