Can anyone tell me how to test the ingition switch on my 98 dyna glide? Im not getting power when I turn the key, the battery is fully charged and the cables are tight. Can someone please help.
I`m looking at a wiring diagram for a 98 dyna, hopefully it will be the same for what we need.
First thing to do is make sure the battery cables are secure at the battery, starter solenoid, main breaker and ground.
Check voltage at the red wire going to the switch, just pull the connector off, it is the center wire in the connector (that is the wire that supplies power). If you don`t have a voltmeter, you can just use a simple test light, clip the ground wire to the negative battery post and touch the probe to the terminal on the red wire.

where is the connector?Iis it under the seat closest to the rear fender? I checked the battery voltage and it reads 12.3 volts and no lights come on with the key in the on position. I am new to motorcycles and Im trying to learn thank you for your help.
Is the connector under the tank or under the seat? If it's under the tank is the tank able to flip up? My sports bike was able to flip up to access the air filter. If the connector is under the seat is it the 10 pin connector? Sorry for all the questions but I'm new to motorcycles and don't want to make a mistake
