Default Electrical problem.

I ride a 2006 Heritage Classic. My battery light & the check engine light were coming on & going out. My battery died so I replaced it & the lights stayed on & engine is all of a sudden hesitating & backfiring. Can someone give me an idea what I can check?
Thanks,
Jim

You need to check the charging system (voltage regulator and stator) and verify that the battery connections (Pos and Gnd) are all good.

Use the Charging System Testing stickys in this section as a guideline. They will walk you through troubleshooting the system.
