Bleeding LED odometer display

I tried to search for this topic in this area and the tech tips but could not find any information, I may not be using the right wording.

What I have is a 1996 Road King where the odometer display is bleeding out and it is difficult, near impossible to read the mileage, there is no trip odometer on these. I bought salvage speedo that has a good LED display in hopes of swapping out the parts but I do not see how to remove the actual display. Before I just muscle it out and risk breaking something completely I thought I would post here and see if any one has some experience to help me out so I can fix this.

Thanks but not on this model. I need to change out the displays and was hoping to find some guidance before I mangled them up.
I may have posted this in the wrong section.
