stalling issue

stalling issue
hey guys I have an 06 street glide, efi, with a se stage 2 kit, and a thunder header and intake. when I start the bike some times it cranks really long and blows smoke out of the intake, even though I use the compression reliefs. also some times when I get off the highway and come to a stop the bike stalls out at idle, it is also doing it in cooler weather more often, which led me to think vacuum leak but that doesn't explain it being so intermittent or when really hot. occasionally on the highway under hard acceleration, or when this stalling issue occurs the check engine light comes on and goes off a few seconds later. does anyone have any ideas of what the issue is? maybe seen this issue before? or should I just take it somewhere to get checked out? Im a car mechanic so I am mechanically inclined but bikes are a little different than cars haha. thanks in advance

i don't have a scanner to check codes, I guess ill take it somewhere, but I usually use brake clean to check for intake leaks, is that safe to use on chrome or is there someway better?

You don't need a scanner to check for codes. There is a procedure but I don't have it. Pretty sure you can find it on this or another forum using the search feature. That would be a good place to start.
