The 1996 EVO in the right hands, Head work ,Cams Fuel can be made to run pretty darn good. The EVO really benefits from head work done right.

I still own a 1996 FB and will never part with it.
I know they are unbreakable when done right. I'm just really weary of shelling out big bucks to someone I don't know unless they know this engine and have a proven setup.
Thanks, just a wee bit too far(3 hours-ish). Would like to try and find someone closer first. But I will keep him in mind when all else fails. I wanted to swap in an engine that is running while I work over the original one. This is why I'm asking to see what my options are.
