Default Foreign material in Fuel Tank

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever done. Filled up yesterday for a long ride today, Have 1/3 of a bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner, OK might as well pour it in and clean injectors while I'm riding. OH **** that cardboard with foil that tops the bottle usually thrown away was in the cap and stuck to the bottle, Yep went right in the tank. Looking in with flashlight cant see it, I'm hoping that draining most of the tank and turning it over and shaking might get it out but I doubt it. I'd intended to make a PVC removal tool to pull the guts out but never got around to it. So it looks like I will have to make a run to Lowe's today unless I get lucky or someone has a solution that I'm not able to think of. I'll check back in a while after I get it drained. At least some of y'all might get a laugh or not feel as bad about dumb things you may have done lol.

OH well, OMW to Lowe's to get a piece of PVC. Will make a tool later today/tonight. Glad I have a manual, I'm also gonna go down to Jims tomorrow and get a fresh Fuel Filter and anything else that may need replacing as long as I'm in there.

Well, Here's the rest of the story. 5" PVC slip joints are a special order, Not one plumbing supply Co had one in stock. So I modified a 6" grate inlet (fits inside 6" pipe) with a dozen angle brackets with one side cut down to 1/4" bolted inside to form a tool with a 24" 1x4 bolted to the grate. Not very pretty but it worked. Pulled filter assembly and changed filer. Found the POS. Made my day, Too bad it rained all day.

OK, Since you asked, Don't be frightend lol, It's scary ugly in an Edward Scissor Hands meets Frankenstein kinda way. Seriously though, The grate was deep enough to clear the filler spout without the cap, And the ID just fit snug around the tabs on locking ring. Needed extra carriage bolts through grate so as not to break the slots( Not quite as rigid as PVC fittings) Also got lucky those ***** around the outside made getting a perfect X ,90 Deg. angle easy.
