I've done a lot of research on the forum and am wondering what others think of my choice in cams. I have 14 dyna 103 with free flow air cleaner, screaming eagle tuner and thunderheader. I've narrowed it down to the screaming eagle 204 cam. I'm looking for a good low end torque cam that's gonna pull very hard up untill around 4500. Do you think this is a good choice or would u recommend sometjing else
Personally I would look at the woods TW6 or the 555 cam. Also the gensis cam from GMR or the cam Dragos puts out. There are way too many cams out there that will do what you want. The SE 204 sounds real good but can be a real bear to tune. Best of luck duane5157

,if you want a harley cam the 204
Tman 555 torqster if not, i like the mr103 for myself but it really pops after 2500 to redline , it sounds like you want something a little earlier.
Don't overlook Andrews 57H. That is the one for the 103 motor I think. I have the 96 motor and used the 48H. It has monster low end torque, and pulls good up to 5k. Check the Andrews website. I found mine new from Phat Performance at a very good price. They are much cheaper than the Woods.
i have the se 204 i like it i made a poor choice with exhaust but the cam is a good one if you want to stick with a harley cam
What was the "poor choice" and why do you think the choice was poor? Certainly some exhaust performs better with the SE204 and if you have an example of what doesn't work; others can benefit from that information and won't make the same "poor choice".
with a lot of advice from members (you included dj and cadonice)and talking to a couple indy shops and the dealer my choice of the bassanni road rage was not good for what i was looking for so i am going to go with a D&D. the se 204 cam really woke the bike up from stock big difference
Djl i think willbill has the road rage , i m not sure which one, but it isnt that poor of a choice. There are much worse imo. Sorry bill ya beat me to it.
There is more than one Bassani RR pipe for the Dyna; the short one (13111J) or the B1 (1D18RB) that wraps the rear head pipe around the cam chest; the RB being the better pipe. I thought the OP had installed and tried a pipe and then decided it was a poor choice; just curious about results.
The D&D is a heavier pipe and I have been reading recently that the head pipe has changed and the change has affected the performance of the Fatcat but I haven't been able to confirm that for a fact. I hang out at a local dyno day once a month and have seen the results of many pipes and the Fatcat always puts up good numbers. Of course, it is JMHO that the Fatcat would be a good choice for the SE204 cams; certainly if the Bassani pipe the OP was considering is the short pipe; a PN would confirm which Bassani pipe the OP was considering. I would agree that RB is not a bad pipe and cannot say with certainty that the Fatcat will outperform the RB, like I said, that is JMHO.
As a matter of fact, I am looking at the Bassini B1 pipe as well as the Supertrapp Supermeg for an upgrade to my 95" but am also upgrading the Bigboyz heads to Lozano Brothers ported heads with more extensive work and larger valves and upgrading TW44G cams to TMan 590 or 600SM cams. Currently running a Python 3 2:1 but don't think it the best choice for the higher compression, better flowing heads and longer cams. A different situation than the OPs.
