Default Clunk from primary when turning off

SO i took my bike in to the stop because I have been experiencing starting delays when the bike is hot. He couldnt tell if the starter was going to bad or not. It doesnt make any weird noise, but it take 2 or 3 attempts after shutting it down and trying to restart within 5 mins or so.

Meanwhile, while doing a series or start/offs. we all heard a clunk from the primary side when shutting off. I have been hearing this for a a month or so and figured it was normal or I never really noticed. Anyhow, the mechanic tells me 09-13 streetglides have been experiencing clutch bearing problems. Its about a grand to fix and recommends updgrading something while in there (maybe some kind of tension component) to avoid re-occurence.

Does this sound like its on the up and up? Its an indy dealer, as I dont trust the stealership.

Could be the clutch bearing but I would be looking at the compensator as the source of the clunk. Very common problem with the later models.

+ 1 on the compensator. shut the bike off in neutral. If no clunk more than likely not the bearing.

I clunks in neutral and in gear. At first they were thinking compensator, and after a few more on/offs, they agreed bearing.

Default Was it the bearing?

I was having the same issue. Removed the primary cover and it wasn’t the compensator. Did u figure out if it was the bearing? Mine will clunk in neutral and in gear. Went to sell it the other day and they want me to fix it first.
