Help Needed on engine build
Doing a 95 big bore with cams and things are not going well.
I was going to do the cams then the Pistons. Had the cams out when I discovered that I needed a different cam plate ( conversion to the newer tensioners) so I replaced the Pistons and cylinders. I lost track of where the cams to piston relation was.
When I started the bike (2005 Road King) up it ran bad and front cylinder was cool so thinking I was 180° off I pulled the cams and rotated the crank one revalution and tried again. What I got was no fire up and sounded like I was on compression release.
Thinking 4 stroke I again pulled the cams and rotated the crank 1 more turn and tried again, but the results were the same as the last try.
Service manual is no help so asking for Ideas!

Found the problem!
Adjusting the HD pushrods per instructions caused the intake valves to remain open. Found this when I ran a compression test and the was no compression.
I adjusted them (intake) and now it runs.
Of course the crankshaft position sensor decided to spring a leak on my test drive so will need to replace that before I proceed breaking it in.

Like Prodrag said! End result, they have to line up like in these pics. They wont line up like this if you don't get it right pressing the cams in the plate with the inner chain to begin with. Use straight edges. The manual & proper tools are necessity! Take your time & good luck!
