Hey guys, i have a 01 Sportster 883 and I'm trying to split the cases.*
I made a puller out of 3/4 birch wood left over from a subwoofer project and i cant get the case sides to separate. Im afraid of putting too much pressure on it and breaking something. It will split about 1/2" then stops. Any help??
While I applaud you for your inovative effort, I doubt that will push that flywheel assembly out.
You need to remove the oil pump, and MAKE SURE ALL the crankcase bolts are removed.
At that point, it needs to be set up in a press, and then, push on the sprocket shaft.
