Thank you everyone for your thoughts and ideas, and especially HD Pilot for your excellent write up. I will go with the 30t gear as this sounds like the best solution for me (for now Lol.) It looks like this will be more of a winter project too as I don't want my bike down for anything more than a day or two during summer riding season. In hindsight I really should've just saved up a little more cash and bought the S&S 124 engine. My 107 kit with everything including parts, labor, tuning etc, ran around $4500, for a little more I could've stepped into a whole new league. I'm not disappointed with the 107's performance, but I believe this power and torque level should be the minimum factory standard for all HD bikes. Unfortunately after a year of riding with the 107 I'm now used to it and it's no longer enough, so here I go again chasing after the ever elusive higher HP and TQ.
I know HDPilot was able to make the 30T pulley work without changing belts on a Dyna; however, whether or not the OEM belt on the touring models can be adjusted properly with a 30T pulley seems to be a hit or miss proposition, at least from what I read. A belt change just adds a bit more work to the project but you might want to check with others that have changed to a 30T trans pulley on a late model touring bike to see if they had to change belts. I know from a 32T to a 34T on my '02 FLHT required a belt change so dropping two teeth on the trans pulley probably would have required a belt change as well but mine is an early model.
What rear pulley do you have? If you have say ye a 32/68 which is what I believe you have (a 2.875:1 overall ratio), you can do 30/70 and use the same belt. Usually every one tooth you decrease on the trans you will need to increase 2 on the wheel pulley to keep the same belt. But I think this will still work and give an overall ratio of 3.15:1. Which is a real nice and easy mod...
God, you sound just like me. Had a 107 all bore done last year. More touring oriented. Does 115 tq & 113 HP. Love it. Like glass.....BUT........I want more!
I figure I will ride the fuvk outta this and when she goes, I'll just go 124 and make a bar hopper outta her.
Original motor in my 08 was a stock 96". Went 103" right away, had 99hp. Messed around with it finally got it squared away and tuned right 112hp. Did a 107" in May of this year, 128hp, yeah I feel the difference. Exhaust is on the horizon along with a re-tune maybe in the spring, should see over 130+hp.
Ahhh, buyers remorse huh? I hate it when that happens! Sure, you can go bigger on the T/B, etc. but the increase will be marginal and probably won't even register on the butt dyno. Enjoy the power that you have, save your shekels for the S&S 124.
Or an S&S 143".
We have those in stock at this time.
Scott
Now that's a hell of a plan.
Just curious...how much would someone be looking at for the 143 setup (motor, tbody, pipe to fit the motor)? Is a new trap door required or recommended?

Thanks
I wonder? Would 15,000 make you jump on it.... Heard one fire up at an Indy over here and let's just say it was badass! Had everyone in the shop smiling. What's the price on just the motor , and tb? D and D has a pipe for a couple grand! Lol
