I brought my bike to a local repair shop to correct a noise in the starter, they replaced the ring gear, starter clutch assembly and replaced the auto primary chain adjuster and I still have the same noise, it kind of a grinding noise that is worse when the bike is warm.... there are only 20,000 miles on the bike any thoughts????
I have a buddy , actually 2 buddies , one with an 08 SG and the other with an 08 Ultra . Both have had compensators and starters replaced, but both motors also have cams and no compression releases. If your bike is stock than it may be an issue with 08 's.
Yes my bike is stock, I took it back to the shop and they told me the new ring gear and starter drive need to wear in as the tolerances are so close that it will make that noise till they "wear in" hope it does or I'll be back....
